SPECIAL TOWN MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 7, 2003
7:00 p.m.
TOWN OFFICE MEETING ROOM


A Special Town Meeting was held on Oct. 7, 2003 at the Town Office with 25 people attending. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Town Clerk, Michele Bukoveckas. Michele invited the public to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.




Article 1. To elect a moderator to preside at said meeting.
A motion was made and seconded to nominate Alan Munroe as moderator of the meeting. There being no other nominations, ballots were cast, and Alan Munroe was sworn in as moderator.


Article 2. To see if the Town will dispense with the reading of the last Annual Town Meeting minutes.
George Tinkham made a motion to approve the article as read. It was seconded by Ruth Douglas. Motion carried.


Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to accept Brookside Road (a road for which owners have granted easement deeds) as a public easement road.
David Hague made a motion to accept Brookside Road (a road for which owners have granted easement deeds) as public easement road. It was seconded by George Tinkham. Motion carried.


Article 4. To see if the Town will vote appropriate $150 from the undesginated fund balance to maintain the Babb ($20.00), Haley ($50.00) and Lakeside ($50.00) cemeteries.
George Tinkham made a motion to appropriate $120 from the undesginated fund balance to maintain the Babb ($20.00), Haley ($50.00) and Lakeside ($50.00) cemeteries. It was seconded by Ruth. June Allen wanted to explain that these funds were to maintain Veterans's graves. There being no further discussion, motion carried.


Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate up to $5,000 from the undesignated fund balance for emergency repairs to the Town Hall storage area roof.
Maurice Davies made a motion to have Public Works Director, Ted Shane speak. It was seconded by David Hague. Motion carried. Ted explained that while replacing the siding at the Old Town Hall, it was discovered that the sides were rotten, and 9 out of 12 rafters were broken. Ted Davis made a motion to appropriate up to $5,000 from the undesignated fund balance for emergency repairs to the Old Town Hall . It was seconded by George Tinkham. Motion carried.




George Tinkham made a motion to adjourn at 7:10 p.m. It was seconded by Bob Irish Jr. Motion carried.
