I Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by George Tinkham.
II Roll Call
Present were Selectmen, George Tinkham, David Hague, Robert Irish Jr., Ted Davis. Chairman, Ruth Douglas was absent. Guests present were: Neal Allen, Alan Munroe, and Allen Crabtree.
Clerk/Treasurer informed the Board that a correction was needed for last year's commitment. An error was made in the calculation of the tax rate due to the use of an erroneous figure of the School Appropriation. The error resulted in an additional overlay of $60, 400 for a total of $136,147. Such figure is within the 5% allowed. This correction is made pursuant to Title 5, Sec 95-B. She also stated that she had looked at this year's commitment, and the same error had occurred. She informed the Board that they could still use the $23.00/thousand for a mil rate, but instead of a $44,000 overlay, the Town now has a $102,000 overlay. This is within the 5%.
George made a motion to enter into Executive Session at 7:15 p.m. It was seconded by David. Motion carried.
III Discussion of the Interim Town Manager Position
The meeting re-convened at 7:50.
George made a motion to appoint Bill Cooper as the Interim Town Manager. It was seconded by David.
Motion carried. George also made a motion to appoint Robert Irish Jr. to the Town Manager Search Committee. It was seconded by David. Motion carried.
A discussion followed regarding a failing septic system on the Hancock Pond Road.
George made a motion to adjourn at 8:00 p.m. It was seconded by David. Motion carried.
