Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:04 pm by Chairman, Allen Crabtree.

I.      Roll Call
Present were: Selectmen: Allen Crabtree, Ann Farley, Jeff Harriman, Edythe Harden, Mose Russo, and Recorder, Michele Bukoveckas.  Town Manager, Jim Smith was absent.  Guests present were: Ray Maher and Paul McCarty.

II.     Old Business
  • Safe Harbor Right of Way Dock Issue
Some residents of Safe Harbor Rd, addressed the Board regarding placing a dock in the Towns Right of Way.  It was stated that when this issue was previously addressed in 2006, the Board decided to not allow docks to be placed in the Towns Right of Way.  It was felt that not only would this be a liability issue for the town, but might cause traffic and parking problems.  Board members discussed the possibility of selling or leasing the Right of Way to the Association.  It was stated that whatever is decided about this Right of Way could have an impact on all town owned Right of Ways.  The Board would like the Town Manager to get a copy of the Long Beach Survey (status of the Town Right of Way on Marathon Ave), and to look into the options of leasing or selling the Right of Way and to bring this information back at the August 4th meeting.  Lastly, the Board requesting that the Town Manager discuss with the Fire Chief possibilities of placing a dry hydrant somewhere near Safe Harbor Rd.

II.     New Business
  • A presentation from Loon Echo Land Trust and The Trust for Public Land on the topic of “Conservation Plan for the Northern Sebago Lake Region” while highlighting benefits to towns and request for Sebago’s involvement and support.

Carrie Walia and Jim Gooch introduced themselves and what Loon Echo can do for Sebago. Their main focus is to  define “quality of place”, conserving land for future use.  They stated that they help municipalities:
  • Build a political and financial commitments for conservation and park creation.
  • Use GIS software to provide clear information to help guide growth
  • Helps create short-term and long-term conservations strategies.
The Board felt that since the Planning Board has completed the Comprehensive Plan and is currently working on the Land Use Ordinance, they should meet with Loon Echo.  Loon Echo will be placed on the next agenda scheduled for August 11, 2009 at 7:00 pm.

III.    Adjournment
Ann Farley made a motion to adjourn at 7:00 pm.  It was seconded by Jeff Harriman.  Motion carried.  The Board continued with their goal setting workshop.
