Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Ann Farley at 6pm.
I. Roll Call
Present were Selectmen; Chris Parker, Jim Libby, Edie Harnden (arrived at 6:10) Ann Farley; Town Manager; Jim Smith. Guests present were: Fire Chief; Ken Littlefield, Phil Strike, Claudia Lowe, and Allen Crabtree.
II. Adjustments to the Agenda
There were none.
III. Written Communication
A. Approval of the January 5, 2016 Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
Jim L. made a motion to accept the minutes as written seconded by Tim M. motion carried 4-0.
IV. Comments from the Public
Ken stated that the Voc. Ed. class @ LRHS was going to be without a fire truck shortly for the Firefighter 1and 2 programs. He asked if the Board of Selectmen would be willing to donate the retired Engine 2 for this purpose. After discussion Jim L. made a motion to put the Engine out to bid and pending bid results, the Board may opt to donate the truck to the Voc. Ed. program. Chris P. seconded the motion and motion carried 4-0.
Claudia Lowe explained the events leading up to the vote today for the Withdrawal process from SAD 61. She invited those interested to attend the next several meetings of the SES group to become familiar with their goals and brainstorm ideas on how to best achieve them.
V. New Business
A. Department of Education Withdrawal Letter (Draft) Discussion
Tim M. made the motion to accept the letter as written pending a yes or no vote. Edie seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0.
VI. Reports from Town Officials
- Stated that heating unit in Station 2 not finished yet but will be shortly.
Jim Libby stated
- Concerns about establishing the Withdrawal Committee especially the "general public" person. Ann presented an ad that Raymond used. Jim Libby made a motion to place an ad in the Shoppers Guide and on the Town web site asking for interested persons to serve on the Withdrawal Committee as a member from the "general public". ~ Chris Parker seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0.
Edie, Chris and Tim had no comments.
- The ZBOA would be held Feb.17th @ 6:30 regarding the CEO's decision re the pig issue on Northwest River Rd.
- Had spoken with Teresa Sadak from Raymond and informed the Board on issues discussed.
The Board entered into a budget Workshop @ 7:15.
