2010/10/10 Minutes
Sebago Fire and Rescue Building Task Force

Minutes from Meeting of October 10, 2010

Meeting opened at 6:30 pm.

In attendance were Jim Smith, Alan Greene and Allen Crabtree.  Tim Smith came later.

Absent were Anita Chadbourne, Phil Strike, Carl Dolloff, and Ann Farley

There was confusion about the meeting date and not all the members got the word in time to attend.  There was a short discussion to bring Alan up to speed since he had been unable to attend the last meeting.

1.      Building Design – Alan explained the rationale behind having a drive-in as opposed to a drive-through design.

Assigned to Alan, Phil, Carl, Tim and Anita to meet, develop a design and bring back at the next meeting for consideration.

2.      Site Selection – Jim has talked with the Shaw Brothers about the town acquiring by purchase or land exchange a 3 to 5 acre parcel in the old Arthur Crowe sand pit.  Shaw Brothers are interested.  He will follow up with an appraisal of a 23 acre town parcel on Folly Road and will schedule a time to walk the site at the Crowe pit to identify the land for a fire station there.

3.      Participation by Standish – Alan has spoken with the Standish Fire Chief and Jim will follow up with their Town Manager to work towards a commitment from them for a tanker-pumper in Sebago.

4.      Financing – Jim asked Michele to research financing options through a bank and reported back on his preliminary findings.  More work needs to be done, however.

Next meeting of the task force is on Sunday, October 24, at 6pm at the town offices.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
