Sebago Fire/Rescue Building Task Force
Meeting convened at 6:00 p.m. at the town offices. Present were Task Force members Jim Smith, Ann Farley, Phil Strike and Alan Greene. Absent were Task Force members Carl Dolloff, Allen Crabtree, Tim Smith and Anita Chadbourne. Guests present were Edie Harnden, Jeff Fleming, Jon Whitten, Cathy Greene, and Ken Littlefield.
Jeff Fleming presented the plans for the proposed Fire/Rescue Building. Metal roof vs. asphalt shingles pros and cons were discussed and Jeff will cost out both options for the next meeting. Vinyl siding was approved for the exterior of the building and a communicating door was discussed between the Fire/Rescue areas.
The bunk room space, which is located in the Rescue part of the building, was discussed at length. Alan Greene noted that the bunk area was intended to house students similar to the program utilized by Standish. This program would enhance our on call status and has been part of our plan for several years. It was decided that the bunk area could be used for both Fire and Rescue.
It was decided to have one Rescue bay and utilize the second one for Fire apparatus and storage for now.
Dissension among the Standish firefighters regarding the truck coming to Sebago was brought up. Jim will speak with Standish Town Manager relevant to this issue. Jim has already signed the Letter Of Memorandum.
Jon Whitten, mechanical engineer, had several questions regarding the septic system site and the parking areas including access and egress. Jim to contact Jack Murphy regarding the soil test for the septic.
Meeting adjourned at 8:45. Next meeting to be held May 9th @ 7PM.
