Sebago Harbor Master Committee
Minutes from Meeting of April 16, 2008
Attending were TM Robert Nicholson, CEO Jim Smith, Selectman Allen Crabtree, Bruce Hart.
Discussion continued about the mooring ordinances that other towns in the region and state are using. Allen distributed information from several towns and will continue to research the other towns in the state so that we can get a handle on what approaches are taken. Bruce will talk to the CEO of Greenville, Jack Hart, for their input.
Allen distributed a list of definitions gleaned from the ordinances of other towns.
Draft language was circulated and discussed for these sections of a new ordinance:
· Purpose
· meaning of words
· authority
· administration
· Harbor and assistant harbor master
· fees and fines.
Bruce has talked with Tim Thurston at the Bureau of Parks and Lands. An amendment to Title 38 was drafted in 2005 but didn’t go anywhere. The Bureau is now considering an amendment to the boating safety rules.
