Sebago Harbor Master Committee

Attending were TM Robert Nicholson, CEO Jim Smith, Selectman Allen Crabtree, Bruce Hart.
There was discussion of the Harbor Master committee’s findings to date – past problems on the lake, concerns over potential problems.
What was the purpose of the ordinance? To preserve traditional and established uses along the shores of the Town of Sebago, give power to the town to maintain and assist with those uses, give power to the town to mediate problems associated with those uses, establish or protection from a mooring field at the town beach.
Enforcement of ordinance – should there be a full- or part-time harbormaster. How best to promote self regulation, particularly in established anchorages. How deal with conflicts with state law.
How best to write the ordinance – Time line, when to have public hearings, goal for completion.
