Town of Sebago
Mooring Regulations ordinance for Sebago being drafted
The Board of Selectmen has appointed a committee to develop a new ordinance for the Town of Sebago that would provide for a Harbor Master and develop a system for regulating moorings.  There currently is no ordinance that covers the placement of moorings, and the intent of developing a new ordinance is provide for an orderly system for users of Sebago's lakes and ponds to moor their boats.

To access the latest draft of the mooring regulations ordinance go to the "on our site" window on the left side of the town website, click on "Policies and Ordinances" and scroll down to "Mooring Regulations".  Click on that and the latest draft will come up for you to download.

The ordinance is only in a draft state - it is not an official ordinance of the Town of Sebago.  The mooring regulation ordinance is in the process of being developed, and citizen participation is encouraged.  Once the committee has reached a consensus on a draft ordinance it will be presented to the Board of Selectmen, subjected to legal review, and then presented to the public through one or more public hearings.  The objective is to have a document presented to the voters at the June 2011 town meeting for ratification.

Meetings of the committee are open to the public and the public is encouraged to attend.  If not possible to attend, the public is encouraged to send e-mail comments to committee chair Allen Crabtree at "allencrabtree@townofsebago.org".  Committee meetings are posted on the meetings calendar at this website.
