An employee will be granted special leave, as required, for jury duty or performance of other civic duty requiring appearance in court or before another public body. The employee shall be paid the difference (if any) in compensation between the amount received from the rendering of such service and his/her regular rate of pay if the service occurs during a work day. Time paid for Jury Service shall not be counted as time worked for purposes of overtime computation. These provisions shall apply only to employees who have completed their
probation period who give notice of such absence.
