Special leave with pay shall be granted to regular full-time employees for up to three days for absence caused by the death of a member of the immediate family. “Immediate family” means parent, spouse, brother, sister, child, stepchild, grandmother, grandfather, and also includes the father, mother, brothers and sisters of the spouse. One day of bereavement leave will be authorized when absence is caused by the death of an aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew. Special exceptions to this rule may be made by the Town
Manager.
