Code Enforcement & Planning

A Code Enforcement Officer (CEO) is defined under 30-A M.R.S. § 4451 as a person employed by a municipality to enforce all enabling state laws and local ordinances in the following areas: shoreland zoning, land use regulation, internal plumbing, subsurface waste water disposal, and building standards.

Inspections with the Code Enforcement Officer must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

Assessing Information can be found at here.

If you're doing any work within 250 feet of any body of water or wetland, you are within the Shoreland Zone and should contact the Code Enforcement Office before conducting any work.
